The new ‘ISS Tech Portugal’ will complement ISS’s already established technology headquarters in two major locations – Copenhagen and Warsaw.

Ramping up inhouse capabilities
The key focus of the centre will be to develop differentiating high-quality and scalable digital solutions for both the ISS enterprise and customers globally.

“Technology is a key enabler for delivering our OneISS strategy. To become the technology leader in the facility management industry, we are not only investing in state-of-the-art technologies but are also ramping up our inhouse capabilities at a global scale,” says Markus Sontheimer, Group Chief Information & Digital Officer.

Access to a growing talent pool
The location in Portugal was chosen due to its thriving technology scene. Markus Sontheimer says:

“With the tremendous tech environment in the Portuguese market, we will be well equipped to access the right talent and capabilities to drive digital value creation and product innovation.”

“I look very much forward to entering this next stage of our digital transformation journey and creating a global technology powerhouse.”

Approximately 100 highly skilled software engineers are expected to work at the centre by end of 2023. This adds to ISS’s current technology team of more than 750 employees.

ISS Tech Portugal will be operational by September.
