One of the largest U.S. airline providers, offering air transport to hundreds of destinations around the world, turned to ISS when they needed to create an extra attractive passenger experience.

 As part of their vision to create the ideal travel experience the customer wanted to design a more sustainable environment with support from their onsite vendors.  

ISS currently provides services to this aviation customer across multiple United States airports. At a Southern United States airport, the customer’s terminal, which is managed by ISS, employs more than 12,000 people and serves 90% of all passenger traffic. ISS manages the customer’s club, restrooms, breakrooms, offices, control towers, and training rooms. 

It was at this location that ISS focused on how increased hygiene could provide a more attractive passenger experience by:  

  • Replacing the previous cleaning products with a hospital-grade disinfectant  
  • Improving distribution of disinfectants to decrease the supplies needed to properly facilitate our services  
  • Conducting employee training on proper use of the new cleaning products 

Through the adoption of this new approach to hygiene, ISS was able to decrease the number of products and supplies used, while increasing efficacy for over 120,000 passengers per month. This switch in products and process saved the customer $6,000 on cleaning products and offered a $0.05 savings per square foot.
