Being part of something more by protecting life and property
Meet Meleah Kielty. She is a security officer at a customer location in Hiawatha, Iowa in the United States. Meleah and her team protect the customers and the site by providing 24-hour security service. Read about her working day and what empowers her.
Meleah is an experienced security professional who came to ISS dedicated to making a difference for the client and their employees. “I’m driven by the desire to protect life and property, while making a positive impact in the lives of others,” she says.
She credits her professional inspiration, her past and the connections she has made along the way, for inspiring her to succeed. “Every job I have ever had has served as a lesson learned, connections made, and knowledge gained. Anyone who has ever offered me friendship and support deserves to see me succeed.”
In her current role as a security officer at a North America key account site, Meleah knows the value of the bigger picture. “One thing that I find inspiring about my job is being able to put on my uniform and badge every day knowing that I am part of something more. By putting on my uniform I am accepting more responsibility, not just as a security officer, but my role as a leader.”
Meleah truly demonstrates what it means when we say people make places at ISS. She is mindful of what makes clients happy, understanding that even the simplest gestures go a long way – from showing gratitude or pitching in to stock supplies when needed. “Sometimes the moment you are called to go above and beyond isn’t the moment you’re expecting it to be,” she explains. “It may even be off the clock, but if you’re there, you’re there, because it’s not just something you do – it’s who you are.”

Bringing Trust and Transparency to the Canteen Experience
Customer satisfaction measurement is key to the work we do; we use annual as well as project-specific surveys to measure satisfaction, including real-time feedback tools such as Happy or Not. This tool has been used recently for a global manufacturing company to measure satisfaction at their workplace restaurants around the world.
