ISS UK wins the Health and Nutrition Award at the Public Sector Catering Awards 2023
ISS UK is proud to announce it has secured the Health and Nutrition Award at the Public Sector Catering Awards 2023.

The Health and Nutrition Award celebrate businesses that provide healthier eating options and food production that nurtures the wellbeing of people and the planet, with ISS among four more businesses making the shortlist. As staunch supporters of sustainable FM solutions and pioneers of multiple catering innovations, the team at ISS is delighted to be recognised as the overall winner.
Following the launch of ISS’s Health and Wellbeing strategy in 2020, ISS has turned its attention to feeding healthy minds and introducing several catering innovations for the education sector.Last year, the company developed and launched the Roots for the Future programme for its education sector - based around three key pillars – for you, for life and for the planet.
ISS has also created blended meat recipes for higher-fibre alternatives, increasing fibre values by approximately 60% per portion and reducing saturated fat by 12%. ISS has also taken steps to incorporate further plant-based and vegetarian options, while production processes have allowed for CO2 emissions to reduce our footprint by 77,660kg Co2 a term.
Alistair Dale, Managing Director for Education, ISS UK, said:
“Our education catering strategy made clear our intentions to create the healthiest, most nutritious food possible for growing minds; but it is the results, and this industry award, that really attest to our teams’ strength and ambition. To be recognised by such a renowned industry channel as Public Sector Catering is an honour, and will only further our drive to keep innovating in the fields of catering, health and nutrition”.
Celebrating their 30th anniversary – and, this year, a record number of applicants– the Public Sector Catering Awards brings together the teams and individuals that further the industry through their service, innovation and food quality standards.
The event, hosted by the industry magazine of the same name, was held at the London Hilton Metropole this Thursday, April 12th. Hosting duties were deftly managed by comedian, author and actor Dominic Holland, while the menu – quite expectedly – was a symphony of gourmet dishes and desserts; everything from seafood and spiced ox pakora, to pickled cucumber and pureed butternut.
We would like to extend our thanks to Public Sector Catering for this event, and our congratulations to all winners and finalists.
