Plaudits for healthcare innovation linking people and providers

Now in their third year, the Blue Door Events celebrate successful initiatives that leverage digital connectivity to drive customer satisfaction, employee engagement and supplier integration.
The ISS nomination in the 2020 category: Use of technology to connect with customers, highlights how technology in facilities management can make a tangible difference to the customer and the services that they then provide for others.
The time-saving ISS healthcare solution seamlessly connects clinical staff to their ISS service teams, providing access to catering, cleaning, portering and other support services at the touch of a button.
This is the second year ISS UK has been recognised for pioneering business-led technological innovation having achieved ‘Highly Commended’ status in the 2019 Blue Door category for employee connectivity.
The winners this year will be announced during the O2 Blue Door Expo, which takes place on 14th-15th October 2020.
With the events of 2020 proving challenging for businesses everywhere, the virtual event will recognise those companies that have gone above and beyond to support their customers, employees and stakeholders.
Creating ‘One Team’
The ISS Service Point Solution provides an integrated approach to connect people who care to the places that heal. The digital suite delivers seamless access to facilities management support services by healthcare clinical staff. The system ensures the fast and accurate creation and allocation of tasks to the right operational teams, backed up by audit-ready management information.
A member of the nursing team at a client healthcare site commented: “The main benefit [of the Service Point solution] is the time it saves. Instead of having to phone through cleaning tasks, or if we have catering queries, we can just, at the click of a button, make the request knowing that it will be picked up. It really makes a difference, absolutely”
Speaking of the innovation, Graham Woods, Head of Technology Solutions & Business Intelligence, ISS UK said: “The use of technology is so important to how ISS deliver value through transparency and efficiencies. Here we have a solution that puts our customers in direct contact with their ISS service teams, allowing them to get on with their primary role of patient care”
Global innovation participation
The initiative will also be showcased at the O2 Blue Door Expo. The event invites stakeholders from across industries and geographies to engage and ignite conversations that look at what we do today, and how we plan for tomorrow, in the following key themes:
• The future of work
• The future of industry
• The future of society
Attendees of the Expo will have virtual access to specialists, round table sessions and workshops. These opportunities provide a platform to share thoughts, inspiration, and best practice across key technologies. Industry experts will debate key topics such as the evolution of Internet of Things, conquering digital overload, cyber security, and the impact on diversity and inclusivity, the environment and wellbeing.
NOTE:
Separate from the official winners of each category, a ‘People’s Choice’ category is included this year, in this supplementary award, event attendees have the opportunity to vote for their favourite initiative to become ‘People’s Choice.
