The internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK. The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”
The Technical Services team will be presented with the award during a ceremony at Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Thursday, July 5, 2018, whilst the Financial Services organisation will receive theirs during a ceremony at ExCeL, London on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Matthew Brabin CEO, ISS UK & Ireland stated, “We are absolutely delighted to receive two Gold Medals this year, with our Technical Services team receiving an outstanding ninth consecutive award for excellence in Health & Safety.” He continued, “Whilst we are proud of our teams’ performance it’s also the result of the combined effort to share best practice across our entire business and the depth and breadth of expertise across a wide range of business sectors. A key aspect is the recognition that their work keeps our people, our clients and stakeholders safe and sound each day they are in our care.”
Stephanie Hamilton, Head of People and Culture, ISS UK, said: “I am incredibly proud of our Safety Leaders and Safety Heroes and the impact they are having to enhance our culture which enables every person at ISS to be encouraged to contribute to the wellbeing of the entire workplace community, both for ourselves and our customers. I believe that this approach continues to ensure that we are doing all we can to work in a culture where every single one of our people, can return home safely and well at the end of their working day.”
Tim Proctor, Director of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality & Corporate Responsibility, ISS commented, “We have a continual record of year-on-year excellence in Health & Safety for our Technical Services business. It’s a work in progress where we implement the best in technical and cultural innovation to achieve safety in the workplace. In this way, we aim to create an environment in which our safety practitioners are seen more as a business resource in today’s successful organisations.”
The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.
