ISS UK & Ireland Corporate Responsibility Report for 2017
ISS UK & Ireland has released its Corporate Responsibility summary report for 2017 which provides an overview of the impact on all of our clients, our people and our communities
The report for the year highlights the significant steps made in the ISS focus on how we can ‘Think Forward’ to achieve three main objectives: Support sustainable service performance; Enhance our customers’ purpose; and Empower our people.
Matthew Brabin, CEO ISS UK & Ireland commented, “Our CR ambitions bring to life our mission statement of, ‘Service performance facilitating our customers’ purpose through people empowerment’ and I am absolutely delighted at how our teams have embraced our ThinkForward@ISS strategy. ThinkForward@ISS is an integral part of the ISS culture and business. It plays a key role in defining the spirit in which we work across the UK & Ireland and is championed by all - from our C-Level though to our people on the frontline.”
New for 2017 - Our CR Leaders
The ISS CR Leaders programme provides a highly effect ‘root and branch’ system, comprising over 150 passionate individuals who have come forward to give their own time and energy to lead our CR agenda at ISS. This helps to ensure that we can work together to reinforce local community relationships, innovate to support safety, health & wellbeing; recruit from a broad talent pool and build a diverse and inclusive culture.
Sustainable service performance
Sustainable service performance represents the ISS commitment to make efficient and responsible use of natural resources. Energy use in our own offices and depots has dropped by 32% over the past two years, by deploying better energy technologies. The ISS achievement puts us on track for our 2022 target to reduce carbon emissions.
Enhancing our customers’ purpose
For ISS, this means that we strive to inspire our customers to reimagine their workplaces and we are uniquely placed to help this by collaborating with them on their own CR agendas. A key highlight was the choice of The Stroke Association as our new corporate charity partner. Over half of our 40,000 employees cast their vote to support the Stroke Association to 2020. Our people and CR Leaders group work tirelessly to raise awareness of stroke prevention and to support those in recovery.
People empowerment
This represents our commitment to identify, retain and develop the best talent. In 2017, a key achievement was our support of Pride, part of which was the transformation of the ISS Logo into rainbow colours. This provides a constant and visible reminder of our commitment to inclusion.
