ISS Becomes Sole Provider of Cleaning Services at The University of Melbourne
UoM is ISS’ largest university contract and the lighthouse account for our tertiary education portfolio. We have a strong presence in tertiary education sector, partnering with 6 of the Group of 8 top universities in the country. In total, ISS provides services to a total of 12 Universities and 56 TAFE campuses across Australia and provide facility services to hundreds of educational institutions worldwide.
ISS has partnered with UoM for six and a half years, and more recently worked closely with our client to enhance service and efficiency. Over the past six months, transitioned our services from night to day cleaning, which has generated significant operational and commercial benefits as well as improved stakeholder feedback about the quality of cleaning. The success of this project and others, demonstrated our expertise in managing change within university environments, our partnership approach, flexibility and commitment to generating the best outcomes for UoM.
Over the tenure of our contract, ISS has also produced quality outcomes on a consistent basis, with no failed audits for KPI’s. Our performance, experienced management team and proud history of directly employing and investing in our staff, has delivered a low-risk solution for UoM to protect their elite brand reputation.

ISS’ new contract has already commenced, with services starting on 1st April 2018. The transition - including hiring and induction of new staff, and rolling out of new equipment and consumables across the campuses – went smoothly with positive client response. ISS has been committed to innovation &continuous improvement and as part of the new contract, we will introduce a range of new cleaning innovations including an encapsulation machine (for dry cleaning carpets), iron mops and cordless vacs.
