ISS partnership supports newly launched Woollahra Procurement Services

We couldn’t have been more proud when Woollahra Group announced the launch of their dedicated Woollahra Procurement Services (WPS) on 1 May, 2024.

This outcome demonstrates how positive business collaboration can have beneficial reach up and down the supply chain, and beyond to surrounding communities.

In 2020, ISS was the first company to engage Indigenous-owned Woollahra Group for procurement services. ISS was introduced to Woollahra Group directors through engagement at a Western Australian resources village, where Woollahra works directly with Traditional Landowners. The Woollahra team did not hesitate to support ISS in this instance.

“Back in 2020, ISS generously became the first company to engage Woollahra Group for procurement services. Our inaugural transaction involved the provision of 10 Aboriginal flags valued at $500. Since then, thanks to your initial support and the positive word-of-mouth spread by your site teams, we've expanded our scope considerably, handling a diverse array of procurement tasks both large and small for ISS,” says Sam Smith, Sales & Marketing Director, Woollahra Group.

The relationship has since grown and prospered into the newly formed Woollahra Procurement Services (WPS), which is a valuable Supply Partner of ISS in Australia. Procurement supplies have ranged from mobilisation start-up packages to Soap Aid single-use soap, and gardening to gym equipment.

Over the past 2 years, ISS and Woollahra have created valuable partnerships across ISS’ NSW government schools contract. As an example, this has evolved into Woollahra becoming a registered Makita agent providing battery powered tools and equipment to our Placemakers on the ground. In doing so, Woollahra and ISS both support AIME (Australian Indigenous Mentoring Exchange) via contract spend, highlighting how opportunity creates initiative sustainability. The creation of WPS really allows ISS to continue to support clients nationwide.

Ryan Clifton, ISS SC&P Business Partner – F/B Category Lead – Indigenous Procurement adds, “The launch of WPS is a testament to the team at Woollahra and their can-do attitude. Throughout the journey with Woollahra, they have constantly shown that nothing is outside of their remit to source and supply. We are proud to say we have been an important part of growing and expanding the Woollahra business and commend them on their connection to communities in which we all work. The creation of WPS has enabled Woollahra to employ additional Indigenous Resources and be represented in Australia’s eastern states, giving ISS and WPS further opportunity to grow together.”
