ISS extends security contract for Melbourne and Launceston Airports in Australia

ISS has signed a 4-year contract to continue security services at Melbourne and Launceston Airports for Australia Pacific Airports Corporation.
The contract is ISS’ largest aviation security contract globally, in which ISS directly employs more than 600 employees at Melbourne Airport in Victoria and Launceston Airport in Tasmania.

ISS has worked with Australia Pacific Airports Corporation (APAC) at Melbourne Airport since 2002 and at Launceston Airport since 2014,
servicing millions of passengers passing through the two airports in 2016.
ISS has extended the contract for four years with an option for one additional year.

Scott Davies, Country Manager for ISS Australia & New Zealand, said:

“We have provided services to APAC for more than 16 years and were therefore able to deliver a solution based on a deep understanding of their needs now and into the future. We are committed to provide APAC with even greater efficiencies, lower risk and improved security outcomes across their airports.”

As the national leader in aviation security in Australia, ISS provides security screening services for 6 out of the country’s 10 biggest airports and screens over 45 million passengers on over 330,000 flights each year, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk for aviation customers.

Melbourne Airport is Australia’s second busiest passenger airport and leading air freight exporter, and has just celebrated 100 months of consecutive international passenger growth. Launceston Airport is Tasmania’s fastest growing airport.
