Ahead of 185 of Denmark's largest companies, ISS has been named the winner of the 2014 Award for Best Annual Report. The ISS IPO in spring 2014 contributed to lifting the annual report. According to the Confederation of Danish Industry, the report is both “informative and complete with a common thread running through it”.
ISS has won the 2014 Award for Best Annual Report for its 2013 annual report. The ISS annual report is commended by the panel of judges for enhanced user friendliness in both the management commentary and the financial statements.
The global facility services provider today accepted the 2014 Award for Best Annual Report at a conference at Industriens Hus hosted by the Confederation of Danish Industry and FSR – Danish Auditors (The Institute of State Authorised Public Accountants in Denmark).
“We are extremely pleased to win this year's award. We set very ambitious goals for our annual report, as it is one of the most important ISS publications during the year. This award is a tribute to the entire ISS organisation and particularly to our finance team for its dedicated work to communicate professionally and efficiently with our investors and other stakeholders. Being a listed company, it is essential that we provide an informative and true and fair view of our company,” says Group CFO Heine Dalsgaard, ISS World Services.
Tight race among top performers
“ISS has prepared an informative and complete annual report with a common thread running through it. This is an amazing achievement, considering the incredibly strong field of nominees for the 2014 Award for Best Annual Report. It shows that the discipline of financial reporting in Denmark is experiencing a strong and healthy development,” says Tine Roed of the Confederation of Danish Industry.
The panel of judges assessing the 185 annual reports admits that it was a very tight race between the nominees, which counted Arla, Carlsberg, Novo Nordisk and FLSmidth, among others.
Other companies were the best performers on individual parameters, but the judges particularly emphasized the strong management commentary as the one factor that made the ISS annual report stand out from the competition.
“The annual report is the main source of information about a company. It is therefore very uplifting to see that Danish IFRS annual reports are generally prepared to a high standard of professionalism and at a very high international level,” says Charlotte Jepsen, CEO of FSR – Danish Auditors.
