ISS France rewarded with Trophy of Employment

The French Unemployment Office has awarded ISS for its recruitment policy in favour of disabled workers. This award recognises the initiatives taken during a disability forum held in Lyon, a recruitment effort resulting in the selection of 30 disabled candidates.
The project is a concrete response to ISS’ intention to recruit disabled workers, especially in the ISS cleaning section in the Lyon area. In September 2013, job coordinator at ISS France, Erwan Plouhinec organised a Disability Forum Day in the Lyon Unemployment Office, in order to increase job opportunities for disabled workers in these areas.

Olivier Schneider, Responsible for Social Integration at the ISS France office in Paris, pointed out:
– It is the first time we have organised this kind of event in partnership with the Unemployment Office. The result is way beyond our expectations. We were expecting about 40 potential candidates and about 90 people turned up throughout the day for meetings and interviews.

Via this forum, 70 disabled workers seeking employment were contacted by Amandine Scanzi and Catherine Ortuno, Recruitment Officers for two ISS Cleaning sections in the Lyon area. As a result almost 30 people have been selected for job opportunities within ISS France.

Following this success, the initiative will be rolled out in other regions within France such as Lorraine in the near future.
