The success and strong growth of ISS in Asia Pacific has earned ISS the title as the Facilities Management Company of the Year at the annual Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards in Singapore.
“We are indeed very proud, that Frost & Sullivan with this prestigious award are recognising the recent achievements of ISS in Asia Pacific. We see the award as a vote of confidence in ISS. Over the last decade, we have successfully built our regional platform from which we integrate and self-deliver a complete set of facility services such as catering, cleaning, security, property and support services throughout this region and across the globe,” said Thomas Hinnerskov, Regional CEO, ISS Asia Pacific when accepting the award on behalf of the company.
The regional head of ISS also used the opportunity to thank the many ISS employees in the region.
“Our employees are at the core of ISS. Without their deep engagement and all the purpose and pride they put into their daily efforts to service our customers, we would never have achieved this recognition. A personal thanks goes to each and every one of our 203,337 employees in the region,” Hinnerskov said.
In 2012, the Asia region in ISS delivered a very strong performance, driven by an organic growth of 15%. Operating profit increased by 16% reflecting an operating margin of 7.7%. In other words, Asia delivered the highest margin of any ISS region.
Recent contract wins in the region include a services contract covering 23 airports in India, a significant contract with Changi General Hospital in Singapore comprising mainly cleaning and washroom services as well as the increased scope of the existing contract with Singapore General Hospital. Furthermore, the Barclays contract has gone live throughout the region. In Australia ISS won important renewals of large contracts within the Resource and Transportation segments e.g. the IFS contract with Searipple Mining Camp and the security contract at Perth Airport.
“Started out as a single service provider and transformed into the outstanding company with impressive portfolio today, ISS has come a long way and done remarkably well in expanding its service offerings and outshine others in Asia-Pacific. In 2012, the company has achieved commendable performance at the global, as well as at the Asia-Pacific level, through securing some of the largest contracts in ISS history,” said Manoj Menon, Partner & Managing Director, Asia Pacific, in a connection with the Award show in Singapore and continued:
“ISS leverages on its self-delivery capabilities and sales strategy to push its integrated facility services penetration in their acutely selected end-user sectors. The company’s understanding and choice of markets to penetrate, has allowed the company to expand its client portfolio successfully. This can be observed through ISS’ successful penetration into the infrastructure and energy end-user sectors. The high number of contracts secured in 2012 has put the company in a very competitive position in Asia-Pacific, despite being a relatively young market participant in the energy end-user sector. ISS is likely to grow strongly in the future with its remarkable market revenue in Asia-Pacific.”
