ISS safety films win two international Film and Television Awards
ISS UK’s recent set of four Behavioural Safety films for staff, called Stop and think, have won two prestigious international Television and Film awards, which recognise both their innovative approach and quality.
The 55th New York Festival’s International Television & Film Awards gave the World Medal to ‘Stop and think’ at this year’s ceremony on Tuesday April 17 at the annual NAB Show in Las Vegas, USA. The Grand Jury of award winning international Television and Film professionals honours the World’s Best TV Programmes & Films.
The films have also won a gold statuette in this year’s US Telly Awards. Nearly 11,000 entries were received from around the world. Winning these awards is regarded as an outstanding accomplishment in the television, film and video industry. Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world.
Ged Horn, HR Director in ISS UK and Ireland, commented:
– We are committed to working safely or not at all. Over the years, we have developed a comprehensive approach to safety training and management. These films were commissioned to illustrate the potential personal consequences of not following our safety processes. Our aim is to persuade our employees to never compromise on their or other people’s wellbeing. The fact that the films were shot in our Woking offices, where there are familiar surroundings and familiar faces, makes the danger seem all the more real.
The Stop & Think campaign is a product of the close collaboration between ISS UK’s Health & Safety team and the London-based communication company, Envision. The Envision team worked closely with ISS to analyse and plan how to further embed safety in to everyday staff thinking and behaviours. As a result, the films are designed to show how small decisions to compromise on safety can have long-term impacts for the individual, their families, colleagues or friends.
Robert James, Creative Director, Envision said:
– We love working with clients to produce award winning products. It only ever happens when there’s a mutual agreement right from the start and the ISS UK Health and Safety team communicated its vision perfectly. Sometimes you just know you’re on to a good idea, that’s going to produce really effective safety communication, as well as a project we can all be proud of.Click here to see one the four award-winning films on Youtube.
