The ISS Group is expanding operations in high growth Asia. The Philippines is now becoming the 47th country with an ISS operation and the 10th ISS country in Asia.

Copenhagen, 14 July 2006 - Today, the ISS Group announced that it is expanding its Asian operations into the Philippines.

ISS has acquired Gayren Maintenance Services in the Philippines, which thereby becomes the 47th country worldwide with ISS activities - and the 10th Asian ISS country.

"Growth in Asia has high priority for the ISS Group. The region generally holds significant potential, which the growth rates and industrial development in countries like China and India reflect. In comparison, the Philippines might not yet have captured the same headlines, but it is a very interesting market, which we wish to explore and develop," said Martin Gaarn Thomsen, Regional Director for Asia at ISS Management A/S.

The Philippines is placed at the heart of the Asian region and has around 90 Million inhabitants and a growing economy. Real GDP growth in 2005 was estimated at around 5%.

Gayren Maintenance Services, which was founded in 1989, provides cleaning, landscaping and office support services to more than 100 B2B customers in the capital of Manila, e.g. at the office buildings of Manila's Makati Business District. The company has 1,500 employees.

"We chose Gayren as our base for expansion into the Philippine market, because the company has an interesting customer portfolio and is ready to take the next step and implement ISS' facility services concept, which is basically unknown in the current service market there. We believe the market has many opportunities for ISS and plan to quickly develop our service offerings both within cleaning and other facility services," said Martin Gaarn Thomsen.
