ISS is exemplary at managing
Copenhagen, 12 January 2009 – ISS is singled out as a shining example of good management in a Danish study published today.
The study has selected 12 management feats and ISS is singled out as an exemplary case in the category ‘Concept development to a large scale’.
Group CEO Jørgen Lindegaard had the following comments on ISS’s nomination: “I am very happy and proud that ISS has been selected as one of the very best companies at management in Denmark. ISS is more than 100 years old and is also the largest company in Denmark and the ninth largest in the world measured on number of employees. It is obvious that the foundation for our success is exactly good management.”
He continues: “ISS is a service company and our ‘products’ have a lot to do with managing. Every single day year round almost half a million ISS employees are working to make our customers’ lives easier and more efficient and the management of this ‘machine’ is a comprehensive task on many levels. Therefore, I also consider this nomination an achievement and a pat on the back to all our managers throughout the entire organisation.”
The study ‘Den Danske Ledelseskanon’ was a co-operation between ‘Mandag Morgen’ (a Danish business paper) and several partners. A Board consisting of five professors: Steen Hildebrandt, Majken Schultz, Kurt Klaudi Klausen, Per Jenster and Per Nikolaj Bukh selected the 12 management feats described in the study.
