ISS is increasing its catering activities in Asia, and has bought three important catering providers in India, Indonesia and in the Philippines.
Copenhagen, 19 November 2007 – ISS is expanding its operations in Asia with the acquisition of the catering businesses Shivas Hotliers and Caterers Pvt. Ltd. in India, Putra Bogasari Buana in Indonesia and Makati Skyline in the Philippines. The combined annual revenues of these three companies are more than DKK 100 million and the total number of new ISS employees in the three organisations is 2,500.
Catering is a very important part of ISS Integrated Facility Services strategy in Asia. With these significant new investments, ISS can now offer catering as part of the service package in 8 of the 11 countries in ISS Asia.
ISS entered India in 2005 and the Philippines in 2006. Both ISS India and ISS Philippines have achieved very impressive growth rates in this short period of time: ISS India has a growth rate of 100%, and ISS Philippines has quadrupled its growth this year.
"Asia has a very attractive facility services market, e.g. India alone is posting growth rates of 50-60% per year. Many international corporations with operations here are increasingly demanding integrated facility services solutions. Many businesses prefer to cooperate with ISS owing to our international concepts and geographical coverage. It is an important part of the ISS Group strategy to expand operations in Asia so that ISS can offer services in all business areas in all countries. Asia is the fastest growing region in ISS, with a growth of over 30% this year. The growth is primarily organic and the main countries pulling this growth are India, China and Indonesia.
