Entering the Uruguayn catering market
ISS has acquired Habitue, which is the 4th largest catering company in Uruguay.
Copenhagen, 12 August 2008 – ISS has bought the well renowned catering company Habitue in Uruguay. Habitue has a special authorization from the government to provide catering services in Uruguay which only 3 other companies in Uruguay have.
Among Habitue’s customers is the Uruguayan government. This contract means that ISS will be responsible for providing 11,000 healthy meals for children in primary public schools every day. This assures that many of these children receive at least one meal a day.
ISS began its operations in Uruguay in 2001 and it comprises cleaning and security services. With the acquisition of the catering company Habitue, which was founded in 1995, ISS Uruguay is one big step closer to achieving its goal of becoming the one stop provider of Integrated Facility Services.
“Catering is a new service for ISS Uruguay with a substantial growth potential. It will contribute as a single service and will also generate substantial cross-selling opportunities.
