Flemming Schandorff, who is responsible for ISS operations worldwide, is retiring.
Copenhagen , 13 December 2007 – Today, ISS A/S announced that Group COO Flemming Schandorff is leaving ISS at the end of March 2008. Flemming Schandorff (59) wants to retire after a long and impressive career with ISS. His most recent position has been Chief Operating Officer in charge of ISS’ entire operation worldwide, which covers 50 countries and over 435,000 employees:
“I have decided to retire now in order to get more time to pursue other interests. I have spent the last 30 years in ISS and have been a part of the company’s development into a global service organization, and it has been a very exciting and privileged journey. I feel the time is right to pass on the torch, since the operations and the financial results are stronger than ever,” said Flemming Schandorff.
Flemming Schandorff began his career in ISS as manager and learned the business through positions in the different service divisions of the ISS Group. He advanced quickly and in 1991 he was named CEO of ISS Denmark.
Between 1996-2000 he was CEO of Kompan, but in 2000 he was brought back to ISS and in 2002 he became a member of the ISS Group management.
Group CEO Jørgen Lindegaard had this to say about Flemming Schandorff’s retiring from ISS:
“When Flemming retires from ISS we are losing a very competent COO. He is famous for his insight into all details, pitfalls and opportunities of the operations and he has made an impressive contribution to ISS, both in terms of ensuring the service deliveries to the customers and a more profitable operation. He has even managed this during a challenging period, where the company has expanded heavily into new countries and into new markets, which has not made his task and responsibility any less. We want to thank Flemming for his long and loyal contribution to ISS and we wish him all the best in the future.”
The current Group CFO, Jeff Gravenhorst will take over as new Group COO after Flemming Schandorff on April 1st, 2008. ISS has begun the process of finding a new Group CFO.
