ISS Sweden Wins Contract with Train Operator
- New contract wins illustrate the potential in the Swedish facility services market -
Copenhagen, 2 December 2005 - ISS Facility Services AB in Sweden announced that the company through a partnership with Stockholmståg has won a five-year contract with an annual value between 250 and 300 million Swedish Kroner.
The agreement was made with SL (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik), which operates the train transport system in the Swedish capital of Stockholm.
“We wish to make everyday life for all train travellers in the Stockholm region comfortable and hassle-free. We will make sure travellers can enjoy clean and save train stations. Among other things, we will do this through a comprehensive education programme for managers as well as station personnel,” said Hans John Øiestad, Country Manager, ISS Facility Services AB in Sweden.
The contract includes sale and inspection of train tickets, passenger information services and cleaning and graffity removal of all stations every day and night.
“We are very satisfied with this new contract, which gives us the opportunity to demonstrate the wide span of our services and our competences in customer service. Our employees will very much constitute the public image of the Swedish train operator, SL. Therefore it is crucial for us to deliver professional customer service,” said Hans John Øiestad. The new contract with SL is the latest in a series of major important deals, which ISS in Sweden has secured over the last six months. In September, e.g., ISS announced a new contract with the nuclear power company, Forsmarks Kraftgrupp, which is the most complex of its kind, so far.
In general, as these contracts illustrate, the Swedish facility services market is growing:
