Akzo Nobel has chosen ISS Cleaning Services to provide the cleaning services
for its sites in four countries. Since 1 June, ISS has started delivering
services in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. The services, which
will ultimately be provided to all sites in these four countries, includes
office cleaning, window cleaning, clean room services and washroom services. In
total, ISS will manage the cleaning services of some 160 Akzo Nobel
sites.
Cleaning Services is one category of a non-product related (NPR)
goods and services purchasing program under which Akzo Nobel has decided to
bundle the purchasing power that is currently spread over its individual
businesses.
Nelleke ten Have, Category Manager at Akzo Nobel: "A key
element of our NPR contracts is that they make clear what we can expect of the
supplier, in this case, for example, defined quality standards. Based on
predetermined supply contract standards we have selected the best supplier for
cleaning services."
Considering its experience with ISS, Akzo Nobel
expects the cooperation to run smoothly. "In some countries we have been doing
business - to our satisfaction - with ISS for years. It was extremely convenient
that we could integrally outsource all of our cleaning-related activities in the
four countries," says Wim Kooy, Team Lead Cleaning Services at Akzo
Nobel.
"We know that Akzo Nobel selected ISS because of the considerable
savings to be realized on current expenditures, but also for ISS' ability to
work efficiently and integrate several services in a consistent way in all four
countries," says Jacob Gøtzsche, SVP Corporate Accounts at ISS Management. Erwin
Wigbold, Member of the Board at ISS in the Netherlands, adds: "In the
Netherlands we have serviced Akzo Nobel for many years - at some sites for more
than fifty. We are - of course - delighted with this new
contract."
