
ISS has acquired one of the top suppliers of building maintenance
services in Brazil and added more than 600 employees to ISS' business in the
country. This will ensure ISS Brazil a foothold on the largest market for
building maintenance service in South America.
"With this acquisition,
ISS Brazil will take an important step towards Facility Services for the
industrial sector and further strengthen its position both in size and
perception in the Brazilian market. We will now be strongly represented in the
greater Sao Paulo area for building maintenance and also be able to offer these
services to our existing customers," said André Jose Ohl, Country Manager in ISS
Brazil.
The acquired company's, BJP Manuencao e Operacao de Utilidades
Ltda. (BJP), core service offerings include building and industrial machinery
maintenance covering areas such as mechanical and electrical maintenance, air
condition systems etc. Furthermore, BJP provides utility management such as
service of steam, water and sewage installations.
BJP has annual
revenues of approximately DKK 70 million (2005). The customers are concentrated
in the greater Sao Paulo area, and the head office is located at the outskirts
of the city. All the employees of BJP as well as the management team will
continue in the company.
