ISS services the Oresund trains
ISS Sweden will handle the daily maintenance of the Oresund trains. Veolia Transport has chosen ISS to provide services to hundreds of Oresund trains running on the Oresund Bridge between Sweden and Denmark.
Veolia Transport has taken over the operation of the Oresund trains, and selected ISS as the preferred service provider under a recently signed contract valued at more than 40 million SEK a year. ISS has extensive experience as service provider for the transport sector and provides similar services to other railway comanies.
The Oresund trains serve the commuter traffic on the Oresund Bridge, and each day in 2011 more than 15,000 passengers travelled by the trains.
ISS will provide daily maintenance, including cleaning of the trains inside and outside. In addition the contract also includes services such as switching, graffiti removal and emergency clean-up. The contract will run for as long as Veolia Transport is assigned to operate the trains.
Philip Truedsson, Branch Manager at ISS Sweden, said:
– We are very proud that Veolia Transport trusts us with the responsibility for the daily maintenance of the Oresund trains. Veolia Transport's ambition to maintain a high level of service is our goal as well. The contract strengthens our position as the leading service provider for the transport sector in Sweden.
Daniel Widstrand, Purchasing Manager at Veolia Transportation, said:
– We had a tender process and ISS offered the best overall solution for the services we have requested.
