ISS Facility Services in the U.S. was recently recognised by the State of Utah Refugee Services Office as the Outstanding Employer of the Year for its assistance in providing employment to many refugees during 2009.
During the Utah Refugee Conference held November 6-7, 2009 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, the Director of the state Refugee Services Office, Gerald Brown, presented a plaque to ISS H.R. Assistant Shelby Cazier in recognition of the company’s efforts.
“During this economic crisis, ISS Facility Services understands the needs of the refugees and has tirelessly worked with them to give them career opportunities,” said Brown.
Many recent ISS hires have spent years in refugee camps in Asia, finally re-settling in Utah from countries such as Bhutan, Nepal and Burma.
ISS has provided cleaning services at SLC Airport since 2006, which has more than 22 million visitors annually.
ISS’ Aviation Division provides facility services for many airports throughout the country, four of which were recently ranked in the top five by J.D. Power & Associates in their 2009 study on overall passenger satisfaction for large North American airports.
