Danish Ministry awards ISS for integration of immigrants and refugees
ISS’ efforts to integrate immigrants and traumatised refugees into the workforce in Denmark were recognised by The Ministry of Refugee, Immigration and Integration Affairs.
The Ministry awarded ISS its employment prize in October 2009. Since March 2008, the number of “immigrant” managers has doubled from 93 to 188 and ISS’ goal is for it to increase to 300 by 2011.
Furthermore, ISS has made job development plans for 40 traumatised refugees.
The award is recognition of ISS’ belief that everyone has the right to a fair chance in the labour market.
About 44% of ISS Denmark’s employees are “new Danes” which come from about 130 different countries.
