ISS Food Hygiene has been awarded the cleaning contract at Danish Crown’s new
abattoir in Horsens. When the new abattoir comes into use late 2004 it will
produce 15.000 pigs per day, making it one of the largest facilities of its kind
in Europe.
"It is a great recognition for us to receive the responsibility for cleaning
and hygiene at one of the world’s most advanced abattoirs", says Søren Stampe,
Managing Director of ISS Food Hygiene. "The abattoir in Horsens will be the
largest start-up in the history of ISS Food Hygiene. It is a great challenge and
we are looking forward to meeting it."
"Throughout the years, we have had a close and rewarding co-operation with
ISS, and we have been very satisfied with the quality of their work. This is one
of the key reasons for choosing ISS as the supplier." says Tommy Holmer Jensen,
Production Manager at Danish Crown in Horsens. In addition he emphasises, that
it is important for Danish Crown, that the preferred supplier is backed by a
solid organisation.
The contract generates 60-70 jobs at the abattoir. By combining cleaning
tasks with various additional services it has become possible to turn more than
80% of the positions into full-time jobs.
"It is essential for us that we can offer our employees full-time jobs. This
makes it easier to attract qualified and committed employees, which in turn
translates into low levels of staff turnover," Søren Stampe explains.
