On Wednesday May 26, CEO Eric Rylberg climbed the podium for
the second time in three years to accept the Danish Shareholders Association's
prize for best Corporate Governance. ISS came out as the winner in an assessment
of 89 Danish companies in the KFX, Midcap and Smallcap indexes. All companies
were evaluated against 16 criteria in areas such as board practices,
remuneration standards and alignment with international accounting standards.
Peter Haisler, Chairman of the selection committee, presented the award
at an event in Copenhagen.
"ISS gets high scores on almost all counts.
The great openness at ISS is particularly aligned with corporate governance
requirements", said Mr. Haisler. In addition, he pointed to ISS' resolve to
enact and promote the attitudes and values that the company stands for.
CEO, Eric Rylberg was flattered when he received the award.
"We
are proud to be able to win this prize once again. This is something we really
aim for"
Mr. Rylberg emphasised that it hadn't required any major changes
to ensure good corporate governance at ISS.
"Openness and transparency
are an integral part of our corporate culture. Basically, corporate governance
is about having a clear conscience, which we have", ended Mr. Rylberg.
