On 3 February, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service awarded ISS the Caring
Company award. The award was given in recognition of ISS' efforts in caring for
the community and its commitment to corporate citizenship - in a strategic
partnership with the social service sector.
Importantly, ISS Hong Kong has supported the Clown Doctor
Program and its campaign mantra of "I Support Smiles" since 1999. The aim
is to bring more laughter and joy to those sick children who are in need of the
"Clown Doctor" service at hospitals in Hong Kong. Clown Doctors visit more
than 15,000 critically ill children each year.
Tung Chee Hwa, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong
authorities was officiating guest at the Caring Company Recognition Ceremony.
Gregory Rooke, Managing Director of ISS Hong Kong accepted the award on behalf
of ISS:
"I feel excited to see that some of our business partners
also received this recognition such as Hongkong Land, Swire Properties Group,
Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd., Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp. Corporate
Citizenship is one of ISS' core objectives and it is definitely an important
element in our strategy. ISS Hong Kong will continue to play an active
role in this Clown Doctor Program by organizing various fund-raising
activities," Gregory Rooke said.
