ISS has acquired the Russian service company
“Facility Services Rus”, thus adding Russia to its list of operating countries.
Facility Services Rus has 800 full-time employees and an annual turnover of
22 DKKm. It services a number of blue-chip companies including IKEA and property
management companies, and it has offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazan.
The acquired company provides ISS with a stepping stone in a promising
market, characterised by growing purchasing power and expanding office spaces
and shopping outlets.
“This acquisition will get us started. The underlying growth and
general willingness to outsource make the Russian market interesting”, says
Karsten Poulsen, CFO at ISS.
The new operation will have a local management, and be supervised through ISS
Finland.
The Russian operation joins ISS as the 41st operating country.
Today, the bulk of ISS’ business is conducted in Europe, but a growing share of
the activity is expected to take place in high growth areas, such as Russia,
China and India.
