ISS Damage Control in the UK has won a prestigious British Insurance Award
after introducing a pioneering scheme with UK fire and rescue
authorities.
BBC Presenter Jeremy Paxman presented Shaun Doherty,
Managing Director, with the Claims Initiative of the Year Award at a ceremony at
the Royal Albert Hall, London attended by 2,000 people from the industry.
Mr Paxman said ISS Damage Control's initiative would reduce the cost of
fire and flood claims while enhancing service to policyholders.
The
British Insurance Awards are the highest accolade awarded by the insurance
industry and ISS Damage Control had to beat off stiff competition from Axa
Insurance, Crawford and Company and The Flood Repairs Forum who were all
nominated.
ISS Damage Control has formed partnerships with fire
authorities across the UK to provide recovery services to businesses and
householders who have been victims of fire and flood.
Managing Director
Shaun Doherty said: "This initiative is both a major cost saving benefit to
insurers by restoring buildings and equipment which may otherwise be destroyed,
but more importantly perhaps helps business to survive and carry on as normal as
quickly as possible following their disaster, which in turn leads to livelihoods
being saved, which is a major benefit to the communities in which these
business' are located."
Seamus Grealish, ISS Board director and
responsible for ISS Damage Control, added: "This is a tremendous win for which
the whole Group should be proud and I congratulate Shaun and his team for
introducing such an effective initiative."
