ISS UK’s Refrigerant Gas Compliance app receives accolade

ISS UK's Refrigerant Gas Compliance app receives accolade

New app designed to measure CO2 equivalent for refrigerant gases in air conditioning and refrigeration gains award from Institute of Refrigeration in Ireland
ISS UK received an award for its new bespoke app designed to measure CO2 equivalent (CO2 e) for refrigerant gas in refrigeration and air conditioning units. The Institute of Refrigeration Ireland presented the accolade at their annual awards reception in Dublin in April 2016.

The ‘ISS CO2 e App’ automatically calculates the CO2 Tonne equivalent for the relevant refrigerant gas (F-Gas) used in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. It allows ISS UK technicians to update equipment data in three simple steps without having to make time-consuming calculations.

Following new EU regulations on gas emissions in 2014, maintenance and engineering services must calculate the amount of CO2 e in refrigeration and air conditioning plants to ensure compliance with these regulations.

ISS UK technicians are able to update system F-Gas compliance records for thousands of assets in a faster, yet controlled and standardised manner. This ensures that data is always accurate and in the required format which allows technicians to improve the efficiency of each appointment.

Kath Fontana, Managing Director, ISS UK Technical Services commented, “We strive to deliver great value to our clients and constantly search for ways to innovate, whilst maintaining our duty of care to our customers and community. Our new app is one of the methods we can use to achieve this.”

Pauric Connolly, General Manager, ISS UK Technical Services added, “We have an in-house digital development team at ISS and together, we were able to develop a scalable, smart solution to capture the necessary data. It means we can ensure compliance for our clients, whilst improving speed, efficiency and productivity for our technicians.”
