ISS research on employee engagement and customer experience awarded

In competition with other leading global companies, ISS won two first prizes at the European Workforce
Analytics Awards.

Together with external advisor proacteur, ISS received the prizes for a research paper documenting the positive link between employee engagement and customer experience. The white paper demonstrates the importance of having motivated employees, who understand how they can deliver on the value proposition originally promised and how they are part of bringing the customers’ purpose to life.

“It demonstrates how you can work with integrated analytics and use employee engagement insights to get an early  indication of how customers will value the services received and plan your efforts accordingly,” says Peter Ankerstjerne, Chief Marketing Officer at ISS.

“Whether you are marketing your service offers to customers or you want to attract, retain and develop employees, the fundamental dynamics are the same. Human beings are searching for ways to fulfil their purposes, solve challenges, and satisfy their needs. If you want to be a successful business or employer, you have to know your stakeholders, offer solutions that they value, and systematically measure your performance with them. That is what we have done for many years with both our customers and our employee surveys - with great success,” Peter Ankerstjerne added.

A people company

The ISS case was built on more than 500,000 employee data sheets combined with 20,000 customer questionnaires linked to approximately 2,500 actual contract specific data.  This analysis is documenting the close link between having engaged employee, which in turn provides satisfied customers, which provides for profitability and growth that secured ISS the overall prize as well as the ‘people’s choice’ award at the European Workforce Analytics Summit.

“We are proud and thankful for this acknowledgement of our efforts to be thought leaders in this field through, among others, the numerous white papers and white books we have produced over the past couple of years. This research relates to the heart of who we are, a people company, and to the core of our value proposition,” says Peter Ankerstjerne.

The ISS team received the awards earlier this week at a ceremony in Amsterdam, Holland.
