The national dinner

The firm celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1951. All employees were invited to an Anniversary Dinner on 1 April at 6:30 p.m. The event was called The National Dinner.

Every single employee received a basket containing everything for the evening's dinner: cured saddle of pork, potatoes, drinks, candles, table cloth, serviettes, dessert and coffee.

There were also a record on which opera singer and former watchman Villy Andersen sang a few verses of Axel Juel's Watchman's Song. Director Sørensen held the first speech, followed by C.L. David's main speech. At the end of the recording, Villy Andersen sang "The Watchman's Song". The basket also contained a copy of the printed text so the entire family could join in around the table.
