ISS wins Videographer Award for safety videos

ISS wins Videographer Award for safety videos
ISS has won an ‘Award of Excellence’ at the film festival, Videographer Awards, for a set of animated safety videos created and released earlier this year.

14-08-2013

ISS rolled out the ISS Safety Rules in September 2010 as the first step in aligning behaviours when ISS employees carry out daily tasks. The understanding of the ISS Safety Rules is a mandatory part of induction training for new employees. To help spread this understanding, ISS and the visual communication company, Citizen Dane, developed a set of animation videos called ‘Living the ISS Safety Rules’. The videos are without voices to overcome the challenge of the many languages ISS employees speak across the world.

At the 17th annual Videographer Awards held in the US, ISS won the Award of Excellence in the safety category. This award is given to projects the judges deems written, produced, shot and edited in an exceptional manner.

The Videographer Awards is one of the most coveted awards in the video industry. Over the past 17 years, thousands of production and communication professionals have entered their best and most creative work. The goal of the Videographer Awards is to identify and recognize the artisans who excel in the scope of their own environment. Winners range from network news operations to local cable access, from large production companies to freelancers, from international advertising agencies to student producers.

Joseph Nazareth, Head of Group Health, Safety & Environment and Corporate Responsibility at ISS, commented:
– We are extremely proud of receiving this award. Our goal with the video is to ensure that all our fellow employees understand the ISS Safety Rules and more importantly understand that these are the behaviours we expect at our work places. We have also received very good feedback on the video from our customers underlining the value of the video.

There were over 1,500 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries in the Videographer Awards 2013 competition.
