We recognise that our long-term sustainable business success depends on a high level of corporate responsibility, as we face global challenges such as deprivation of the natural environment, poverty, illiteracy, water shortages and urbanisation. These are areas within which ISS can contribute to solutions.
We have adopted the principles-based approach to Corporate Responsibility (CR), thus contributing to sustainable development as defined by the international community. This principles-based approach effectively integrates universally accepted principles into the way we do our business. It is a foundation embedded in our Values, our Code of Conduct, our Strategy, the ISS Way and our Leadership Principles.
ISS has made a strong commitment as a signatory and supporter of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) since its inception in 1999. In line with the membership regulations, we are committed to aligning our strategy and business operations with the ten principles on human rights, labour rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
